Here are some common questions we’re asked about permanent jewelry and the Alma Sun experience.
✨What is permanent jewelry?
It's jewelry designed to be worn continuously, without traditional clasps. Each piece is custom fitted and micro-welded for a seamless look. It’s made for everyday wear, but like all fine jewelry, it should be worn with care.
✨Does it hurt?
The micro-welding process creates a brief spark. A protective barrier is always used to prevent heat from contacting the skin, making the process quick and comfortable.
✨Is there an age limit?
Yes, permanent jewelry is available for guests 15 years and older. For younger guests, or for anyone who prefers a removable option, clasps are available. You’ll still be able to choose your chain, charms or connectors, and receive a custom fit.
✨Does it last forever?
It’s dainty and designed for everyday wear, but not indestructible. Longevity depends on lifestyle, placement, and the chain you choose.
✨Can it be removed?
Yes. If your jewelry needs to be removed for any reason, it can be cut at the weld site using jewelry snips. If desired, the same chain can be re-welded at a later time, as long as the chain is brought with you.
✨What if my jewelry breaks or gets lost?
Permanent jewelry is delicate by design. Alma Sun is not responsible for lost jewelry. If your piece breaks at the weld point within the warranty period, please refer to the warranty policy below.
✨Can you wear the jewelry through TSA?
YES! It’s considered fine jewelry, so there is typically no need to remove it.
✨Can I shower, swim, or work out with it?
Yes, permanent jewelry is designed for everyday wear. However, exposure to chemicals, friction, and certain activities may affect longevity over time. Proper care will help extend the life of your jewelry.
✨Do I need an appointment?
Public events are first come, first served. Private events are scheduled in advance and require an inquiry through our contact form.
Policies
Due to the customized nature of permanent jewelry, all sales are final. Alma Sun, LLC will work with you to get your jewelry repaired but cannot be responsible for broken or lost jewelry.
3 Month Warranty
The life of your jewelry depends on you and your lifestyle, activity level, job and other external factors. Alma Sun, LLC will guarantee our weld for 3 months. If your jewelry breaks at the weld spot within the allotted time frame, please contact us at 757-349-6587 or crystalfay@almasun.co for a reweld at no charge. You MUST bring your chain with you. We are not responsible for the lost chain.
Voluntary removal
If you need to remove your permanent jewelry for any reason (such as a medical procedure), please cut the jewelry at the weld site and save the chain. Once you are ready for jewelry to be welded back on, please contact us at 757-349-6587 or crystalfay@almasun.co.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your jewelry after the weld is complete. If it's not to your satisfaction, please let us know, so we can make it right.
